Porenza Schouler Fall 2010 RTW

Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCoulough are definitely fashion's cool kids. Their fall show had the social-set in attendance plus trend setting heavy hitter Mary-Kate Olsen front row. The eighties seemed to be in high gear as they showed high waisted printed skinny jeans (made in collaboration with the denim label J Brand). Models carried the new and probably soon to be must have P.S. 11 Bag, all the while strutting on wooden-platform stacked heel shoes. The collection showed some great cashmere coats, varsity jackets, and cheerleader skirts plus thigh high stockings that gave off a sort of addams family prep school look. They showed blurred and distorted plaids on amazing coupe faille dresses while the models had a dark and eerie vibe to their beauty look. So here are some of my favorite looks!!!

Plaits, Please.

A recent Vogue editorial featured Kasia Struss wearing crazy dishevelled braids. A look I'm completely in love with. It's nice to see a girly feminine style thats also kind of messy like you've been rolling in the hay for a while. A very messy dressy look, I think the best part is it could be worn to complement any look.

Chris Benz Fall 2010 RTW

Chris Benz said his inspiration for his latest collection came from girls "who got sent away to wilderness camp". The collection came off as more troop beverly hills than outward bound, however, he still managed to show some great looks. A metallic blazer with jewel encrusted lapel was one of the highlights. Benz showed a lot of separates that would complement any outfit. Some of my faves were a plaid poncho accented with jewels, a cable knit corset, and a sequins and bejeweled cowl-neck top. Although sequins and shimmery accents seem to be all over the place lately, Benz still catches my attention with it.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 RTW!!!

Marc Jacobs’s newest collection could be summed up in one word, nostalgia. The models, walking to Frederic Sanchez remix of “Over The Rainbow”, evoked clothing that was truly “once in a lullaby”. The clothes feel from a simpler time. A very vintage/retro look that made the models look like spinning figures in a jewelry box or paper collages come to life. It wasn’t your mother’s vintage though; Jacobs seemed to reinvent his looks with gorgeous lamb collard shearlings, sheer lingerie layers, clear trenches, and over-the-elbow length leather gloves. The looks were all very muted and simple, a refreshing change from the oppressive leather and studs that have been seen a lot lately. His accessories gave off a sense of déjà vu; with sling back flats over ankle socks and classic simple clutches and bags. So that’s where you’ll find me; over the rainbow in Marc Jacobs.

A sheer lingerie maxi gave off an ethereal look seducing buyers.

Exquisite velvets and trompe l'oeil bows look like ballerinas spinning atop a jewelry box.

A Prince of Wales check three-piece suit gives off a vintage vibe like Lauren Hutton meets Annie Hall.

Ostrich skin bags and over the elbow gloves add to the vintage feel, all the while looking fresh and modern.
